Work on the construction and equipment of the Kuvinski Oil Refinery is in full swing: the complex is changing not only inside, but also outside.
The improvement of the surrounding area plays a significant role, and the comfort of the refinery employees is a priority here. In order to move quickly between workshops, receiving points, warehouses, stations, outbuildings and other buildings, it was decided to launch transport links. For this purpose, tram lines with a length of 50.4 km were designed, along which small comfortable trains will constantly run.
The first phase of laying the lines has already begun, but before that a meeting was held to select a contractor to supply the rail systems. The tender was won by a company that has already supplied European plates for transportation tanks to the Kuva refinery.
Several factors played a vital role in the selection:
• experience of previous successful cooperation;
• best price for tram rails;
• fast delivery times.
In addition, the same supplier was able to offer the supply of tram rails immediately with rail components: rail clips, fasteners, rail seals. This has all greatly accelerated the "design-agreement-purchase-implementation" process.
The second phase of construction of the tram service is scheduled for 2024, and the refinery infrastructure is promised to be fully looped in the first quarter of 2025.
